Holiday Activities in Charleston!

November 23, 2018

The holidays are a special time of year for everyone. It’s a time of celebration, and fun with friends and family.  If you are traveling during the holidays it’s a great opportunity for new experiences.  Charleston has so much to offer this time of year. Whether it be tours, Christmas events, or celebrating with friends, you will always find something to do.

Christmas is coming! Charleston Stage puts on their adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” at the Dock Street Theatre, which also happens to be the first theater in America, located at 135 Church Street.  The professional cast puts on an amazing show with colorful costumes and beautiful music performed by the orchestra. The show runs from November 28th until December 19th. For more information or tickets visit the productions website here.

The Holiday Walking Tour presented by Charleston Strolls is a guided tour through historic Charleston to view the beauty of the Holy City.  The tour showcases neighborhood houses decorated for the holidays. It is a beautiful sight to see! The end of the tour stops at the Mills House Hotel for refreshments around the Christmas tree.

Last but not least, New Years Eve is one of the most exciting nights of the year. Why not go all out? The U.S.S. Yorktown at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant creates the perfect venue to celebrate. The warplanes on the ship’s deck are moved to offer a heated tent. Inside, there will be bars as well as live performances on two stages. This event will make this New Years a night you’ll never forget. Visit Yorktown Countdown for more information.
