Most Anticipated New Downtown Charleston Restaurants

December 17, 2018

Charleston is a place for foodies, and this town is consistently attracting restaurateurs and chefs to open new locations in order to satisfy the hungry crowds. Here are some of the best-rated and most highly-anticipated restaurants that have appeared on the scene in late 2018.

Bourbon N’ Bubbles

Executive Chef Steve Jackson and the Republic Development and Management Group are joining forces to bring exclusive liquors and champagne in a cosmopolitan atmosphere to upper King Street. Opening in late Fall at 570 King Street, Bourbon N’ Bubbles will be the place to enjoy cocktails in luxury. You can even become a member with your own “liquor locker.”

Joséphine Wine Bar

Located at 64 Spring Street, Joséphine Wine Bar is inspired by Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais, first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was said to have the best wine collection of the time. Executive Chef Shaun Connolly, Wine Director/Advanced Sommelier Ashley Broshious, and Bar Manager/Certified Sommelier Melissa Yard have crafted a menu featuring French wines and local produce and proteins to be enjoyed in a relaxed setting.

Melfi’s

Restaurateur Brooks Reitz of Leon’s and Little Jack’s has teamed up with Chef John Amato to bring “Roman-ish” thin-crust pizza and classic Italian cuisine to 721 King Street. Melfi’s features aperitif-style cocktails, beers, and Italian wine in a sophisticated yet laid-back environment. Walk-ins can find room at the long wooden bar or pizza bar with a view of the two wood burning ovens.
